Human Genetics Courses

Human genetics is the basis of the inheritance in human beings. Encompassing a wide variety of overlapping fields that include classical genetics, molecular genetics, extogenetics, and multiple other types of genetics, it is a very important aspect of biological science.

Usually the behavioral pattern in human beings is determined on the basis of genetic factors. Genes are the basic factors that influence the physique as well as psychology of a person. That is reflected in their behavioral patterns. Moreover the study of genes could be very useful in determining the answer to certain questions relating to human anatomy and psychology. At times the detection of diseases is also dependent on the genes. It has been scientifically established that many critical diseases like the diabetes often have genetic basis.

The functional genetic information is present in the DNA in the form of genes. The useful information in the DNA will be transcribed into hnRNA or hetero nuclear RNA by a process called transcription. Actually, hnRNA is an intermediate product of transcription. It consists of Exons and Introns. Introns are regions which do not possess functional significance. Introns only provide structural integrity to the DNA. Exons will possess functional code that will further get transformed into mRNA or messenger RNA in the transcription process. The transcription is carried out in the nucleus of the cell in the presence of certain enzymes. The mRNA that is created in the nucleus moves to the cytoplasm.

Psychology is said to have been founded in the 1870s by William ("The Principles of Psychology") James and Wilhelm (" Principles of Physiological Psychology") Wundt. They were involved early on in experimental psychology, and they taught the likes of Ivan Pavlov, Granville Stanley Hall and Russ Dewey. Of course, students in Intro to Psychology are likely also to be introduced to Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud. B.F. Skinner of "Skinner box" behavioral conditioning notoriety, and Kurt Lewin, founder of modern social psychology, might also be introduced in Intro courses.

Many Intro to Psychology courses explore how personalities develop in children, how and why people are different in terms of thoughts and emotions. These courses also explore different theories related to dreams, what they mean and why they might exist. A few of these theories, Intro students might learn, include the ability to preserve sleep through the experience of hallucination, the ability to develop our personalities and solve problems.

None of these enhancements have come about through overt genetic manipulation, but doesn't such manipulation result from pairings such as Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi? Surely their children are more likely to be better athletes than the average college student. Systematizing the process (if possible) would merely be more efficient.

There's a wider benefit. Good genes over time create fitter humans - the entire gene pool could become optimized over a number of generations. Certainly, such humans would have genomes qualitatively and quantitatively different from the genomes of 10,000 years ago. But over evolutionary time, viruses infiltrate our nuclei and update our 3 billion base pairs. Again, systematization of this "creation"-based process could provide great benefit.
